Part One - Bay Oaks Social Seniors visit Walt Disney World

THE SWAN HOTEL AND EPCOT CENTER

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is located in the heart of Disney World, near both Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Our group, the Bay Oaks Social Seniors, checked in to the resort on April 23, 2010. The resort is in a great location because there is a water taxi that provides transportation throughout Walt Disney World. The water taxi from the Disney resorts' dock runs  approximately every 15 – 20 minutes to and from Epcot. (You can stroll along a series of walkways that will also lead you to the entrance of the theme park, but we always took the water taxi.) This arrangement was very convenient, and we enjoyed the boat ride to and from the park as well.

Spaceship Earth

Epcot is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement, namely technological innovation and international culture. It is sometimes referred to as a “Permanent World’s Fair.” The park is represented by Spaceship Earth, a geodisic sphere that also serves as an attraction.

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is a special event in the spring. It is filled with colorful flowers, gardens, and topiaries portraying favorite Disney characters.

on a scalene triangle and composed with minimalism.
